
JSC Russian Railways and CargoBeamer AG cooperate on innovation in rail cargo
To foster the growth of rail cargo freight in the Russian Federation and along the transit routes between Asia and Europe, Mr. Aleksei Shilo, Deputy CEO of JSC Russian Railways und Head of Corporate Transportation Services Centre, and Dr. Markus Fischer, Member of the Board of CargoBeamer AG, Germany, on Oct. 29th during the International Transport and Logistics Forum PRO//MOTION.1520 in Sochi, Russia, signed an Memorandum of Understanding (‚MoU‘) on a cooperation to introduce new rail cargo products.

€7m from the EU for the CargoBeamer ‘rail motorway’ terminal in Calais
On the 8th of July, CargoBeamer and the European Commission signed a grant agreement worth 7 million euros for the implementation of an innovative combined transport terminal in Calais. This project will enable the environmentally friendly transport of standard semi-trailers by rail.

Cost effective and environmentally friendly freight transport: CargoBeamer holds greatest promise
In a study of three scenarios for increased electric vehicle freight traffic, the Swiss research institute Infras investigated the business, economic and environmental impacts on achievement of climate targets by 2030. In the comparison, rail-road combined transport and in particular the CargoBeamer technology offers the best preconditions for protecting the climate, significantly relieving the motorway network, while at the same time being capable of realisation with low investment.
