As Senior Program Manager and Head of EU Rail, he was most recently responsible for developing European rail transport network of Amazon. With over ten years of experience in both globally operating transport groups and high-growth scale-ups, he brings in-depth knowledge of fast scaling, sales, pricing, and capacity management to CargoBeamer.

Alexander Kornblum, Managing Director of CargoBeamer intermodal operations, says: "I am very much looking forward to my new role at CargoBeamer. In my past job at Amazon, I already had contact with the company and have seen that the CargoBeamer system is essential for scaling intermodal transport in Europe due to its versatility with other road and rail technologies. At the same time, the demand for climate-friendly transport is growing enormously in the industry. CargoBeamer provides an excellent solution for this and will expand its network at a large scale in the coming years. I am excited to help shape this path in the future."

Boris Timm, COO of CargoBeamer, adds: "Alexander will strengthen our team with his knowledge in pricing, demand management, sales, and scaling and will be an important building block in tailoring CargoBeamer's services to the needs of our customers in the future. He brings experience in a high-growth environment and has achieved outstanding results in launching transport services in the rail, road, and aviation sectors. I am delighted to welcome Alexander to the team and look forward to working with him, as we plan to take CargoBeamer's portfolio to the next level."

About CargoBeamer

CargoBeamer AG, headquartered in Leipzig, Germany, is an innovative logistics service provider in the combined transport between road and rail. As a pioneer in decarbonizing freight transport in Europe at large scale, its mission is to improve the environment with disruptive and cost-effective solutions to shift freight transport from road to rail. The CargoBeamer system, consisting of patented wagons, transshipment terminals and logistics software, enables all types of semi-trailers to be transported by rail, resulting in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and other external costs. While semi-trailers account for 75% of all transport volume in Europe, only 5% can be transported by train due to the lack of technological systems to efficiently load and unload semi-trailers onto railcars, forming an addressable market for CargoBeamer of enormous size. Presently trains are operated in Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. The company was certified as climate neutral is working on realizing a European network of efficient CargoBeamer terminals, connected in fixed timetables with trains consisting of up to 36 CargoBeamer wagons. It means sustainable rail transport for hundreds of thousands of semi-trailers per year and significantly reduced CO2 emissions and relief for the environment and society.
